Immediate Response to Large-Scale Destruction

You can give urgently needed support to local communities left homeless by Typhoon Odette. The Amurt Philippines team is already on the ground bringing immediate relief to affected families and front-line workers.

Last Thursday evening, the violent storm Super Typhoon Rai, known locally as Odette, hit greater Cebu city, Philippines, destroying or seriously damaging close to 100,000 homes and leaving the entire area without electricity and thousands of people without running water. Around 21 have been reported dead and more are missing. AMURT immediately began responding to the disaster even while some of the team members themselves had lost their own homes.

Clean Water to Local Families

While most households are now without access to clean water, AMURT have the means to provide families with free water. Already, they have distributed up to 10 gallons of water each to hundreds of people and will continue to do so as long as they have the capacity.

Your donation will provide survivors of the typhoon with essential clean water.

Hot Meals to Communities and Workers

Within approximately 24 hours of the disaster, AMURT began preparing and distributing hot, healthy meals to hundreds of affected families and to the front-line workers cleaning and repairing the damage caused by the typhoon.

They will continue to provide food as long as they have access to supplies. The availability of food will be extremely limited for a long time as many agricultural fields have been destroyed in the storm.

Make a donation now to ensure that typhoon survivors continue to receive hot food from our dedicated team.

Rebuilding Homes

With the resources currently available to them, AMURT has already purchased replacement roofing for ten or more homes, which will provide permanent shelter for the affected households.

By giving whatever you can afford, you can help provide housing for many more families who have lost their homes in this devastating storm.
